Totally agree! Congratulations Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber!
...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

They're being held tonight and should be broadcast (I think) on CBS towards the end of the month - usually Christmas week

And Christine Ebersole is performing! I cannot wait to see it broadcast.

The Kennedy Center Honors is always a class act. I look forward to watching every year. I wish the Tony Awards ceremony could be this sophisticated!

Yes, Congratulations!

But, I thought that the Kennedy Center Honors were for American artists, or, at least, for artists who live here...

Am I wrong?

re: CONGRATS ALW on KENNEDY CENTER HONOR

I worked KC Honors tonight (catering) and it was amazing... ALW was, well, ALW, but the stars there were amazing:
I spoke to Nancy Pelosi and Aretha Franklin (who didn't like her steak because it was too rare).
I "accidentally" touched Tom Hanks, Joe Lieberman, Karl Rove, and Steven Spielberg (who was also honored).
I saw Dolly Parton (who was also honored) and Barbara Walters.
Fran Drescher, Jessica Simpson and Reese Witherspoon were also there, but I didn't see them. Oh so was Bush but who gives a damn.
Rumor going around was that Jessica Simpson left quickly after because her performance didn't go well.
If I only had the time, what I would write for your delight...

There are quite a few non-Americans who were honored -- Sean Connery and Victor Borge are two that come to my mind at the moment.

re: CONGRATS ALW on KENNEDY CENTER HONOR

Can anyone post who performed what, not only for ALW, but for Dolly, Stephen Spielberg, etc.... Would love to know.... What on earth did Jessica Simpson perform? Was Reba there?
Thanks! :)

Elton John was honored a couple of years ago as well. I should know, as I performed in one of the segments honoring Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis that same year. Unfortunately a lot of the segments are edited so you don't get the full scope of the numbers actually performed for the honorees.

According to an email I just got from Grey Gardens, the show will be televised on December 26th on CBS.
