Has anyone else seen this? It’s maybe one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen on stage and I just haven’t been able to stop thinking about it for over a week.

For those who haven’t seen it, it’s like if Martin McDonagh decided one day that he hadn’t written anything truly f*cked up and wanted to really push the boundaries.

I absolutely hated it. Total McDonagh wanna-be. The "funny" dialogue was just stupid and forced, and the disturbing events of the play feel purely for shock value, which made me furious. It was structurally a mess, and everything it was trying to achieve dramatically has been done 1000x better by other plays.

The only thing of value it had to offer, in my eyes, was the subject matter. I've never seen a play about Northern-Irish identity, and I actually found it very illuminating at times. What a shame that the playwright spent more energy trying to shock the audience than actually trying to get to the heart of the meaningful topic.
