Can we expect a 50th-Anniversary "Gypsy" CD next year?

Possibly a remastered version of the original with bonuses, such as additional tracks from other productions? Next year is 50 years of "Gypsy," and I was thinking, because "Gypsy" is really popular now, it makes sense to have a 50th Anniversary CD, because it's a legendary show and plenty of other non-legendary shows have 50th Anniversary CDs.

They did it with West Side Story, so I would imagine there could be some type of special release, especially if the current production of Gypsy is still open on that actual 50th anniversary. I certainly hope there will be and I think it would be neat to have all of the recordings in one box set, or something along those lines.

A lot of people think that this production will close on 4 March though, and the ACTUAL anniversary is 21 May. I don't know if this production will be open still, but I really hope that there will be a 50th Anniversary set or CD.

I don't think it will be the last revival ever, but hopefully it will be for a little while.

Along with many others on here, I have a great bootleg video of LuPone's GYPSY and though its all about the performances in this revival, the visual production does NOT photograph well. On 'film' it looks cheaper than it does 'live'. No words can describe how that paint splattered smock on LuPone looks. Oy!

If this revival was a full-scale elaborate production, I would fully agree with a PBS-level filming. In this incarnation, heck no.

Personally, rather than have bonus tracks from other various productions, I would much rather have some archival interviews/anecdotes related to the original Broadway production.

Well the original cast album's current CD reissue can't be topped IMHO.

What do you mean they did it for WSS? That wasn't a reissue but a brand new recording (which I hated :P )
