Candide on PBS

Did anyone see this? What did you think?
I really loved it, especially the part they added in the beginning.

re: Candide on PBS

I saw it. I think most people on here did too. I adored it. This is one of my favorite shows, and I adore Patti LuPone. It goes on sale May 17. I've already pre-ordered!

All boycotts shatter before the power of her high notes in "Glitter and Be Gay."

re: Candide on PBS

I thought the whole cast was incredible, including Kristin Chenoweth. I like her opera singing a lot. The man who played Candide was PHENOMINAL! So it's coming out on DVD or CD or what?

re: Candide on PBS

I think this is the 'boycott' because of the Bush inauguration, or am I completely off-base?

Anyway, I can't wait til they broadcast this again because I want to see it, but am stone broke.

cut_loose,
in an immature reaction to the fact that she performs christian songs and appeared on a christian television show, some people on this board have called for a boycott.

"and appeared on a christian television show"

It would be more accurate to say a Christian Taliban show "the 700 Club".

re: Candide on PBS

What date did "Candide" air? I really enjoyed the Live From LC "Passion" the other nite.

Didn't renew my PBS membership this year since they let Bill Moyers go and brought Tucker Carlson onboard, but perhaps I'll rethink that decision...rare to get any federal support for the arts these days, so we have to contribute if we want to have anything available for the public-at-large.
