"I am a huge fan of hers and I was curious why this was? Is it a temporary thing or something?"
I think you will always be a fan. I don't know why it is. You obviously never heard her in Evita...Just kidding.

BSo.... hah.
I have no idea what the deal is, but I'm glad she's back! I want to see her.

I saw her as Maureen yesterday afternoon.
My least favorite Maureen ever, other that Amy Erlich. Her voice is constantly on the breaking point. During "Over the Moon," her falsetto "A leaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap ooooof faiith" was painful. About 4 notes too high, then she cracked on top of it. Ghastly.

Was she in ASU? If she was, then I think I remember seeing her at the stage door. Every other ensemble member and performer was coming out signing the playbill, but she just sat on the curb drinking a Pepsi. I wonder if I was the only one who recognized her.

And she toured Asia in RENT.
And didn't she perform in BROOKLYN for a short time?
No wonder her voice is blown.

She was ensemble of BKLYN....on those pre-recorded backing tracks.
I think she was an understudy, too.

I saw her as Eponine 11 years ago. She's been wailing for a while.

She was a vocaclst in Brooklyn. She sang backstage... She also understudied Faith and Brooklyn although she never went on as Brooklyn.
And I don't get the first joke. Yeah I've heard her Evita. I thought it was great!
And I am surpised to hear yout hated her Maureen. She is my absolute favorite. I think her voice is incredible. Plus she has the acting chops I don't often see in Maureen. I

I saw her as Mimi, which was pretty decent. She was the understudy for Mel B at the time.

I liked her as Mimi when I saw her about 3-4 years ago.

Hmm, And you didn't like her Maureen? I find her Maureen far supierior to her Mimi. Maybe she was having a bad day?

Possibly, but it's my hunch that her voice is SHOT.

If you enjoy Caren, get there this month. She's filling in for the month of March while Ava has further surgery and treatment. If you're really lucky, Caren will be out and Karen Olivo will be on instead.

saw her in RENT in Hong Kong... WOW! What a voice! She is SO nice too! I gave her a farewell card on the show's last night in HK, and she gave a a HUGE hug and her not-yet-released (I think) solo album! It's SO great!

Ava is taking a medical leave of absense, so Caren is playing Maureen for the next month or so.

I saw Rent last night and was pleasantly surprised to see that Caren was in as Maureen. I thought that she did a lovely job.
