Is this really true? Because, there was quite a few rumors she was going to a foreign production.

This is indeed true. Carmen Cusack is out here for a month as a temporary standby Elphaba.
Amanda Harrison is on vacation, Jemma Rix has been promoted to full time and Patrice Tipoki, the second cover has just left the show as she is pregnant. So Carmen has joined the production to do two shows a week while a new Elphaba cover can be rehearsed.
She performed on the weekend and did a stellar job, it was fascinating to watch how the Australian cast bounced off her performance. Very talented lady.

Saw her on Sunday, loved her Elphaba. :) But I must admit I prefer Amanda's and Jemma's voices.

I love Carmen Cusack. She is DIVINE! I hope she gets some other work soon. Id love to see her in something else.
