Not a laughing matter. At her age this can be serious. My Mom passed away during the surgery for this kind of injury.

She was given an honorary doctorate in 2004 from Cal State University, Stanislaus.

I hope she heals quickly. Fortunately, she has taken very good care of herself over the years. Here's hoping that contributes to her having a full recovery.
