Anyone know why the tour closed up shop so soon? How could it not sell with Channing and Morse headlining?

I caught the show in Boston in 1980 with my mother. Laughed the entire time. I snapped a shot of Carol coming out for one of the numbers dressed like the Statue of Liberty. I had no idea the tour was a flop. I didn't read the telegraph, I guess.
