Is it true that Caroline Sheen is only playing Mary Poppins for the Tempe, Arizona tour stop? My friend is seeing the show nexst month in Denver and she was looking foreward to seeing her, but I'm not sure if she will. If Caroline is only playing the role in Tempe, who will replace her afterwards?

I haven't a clue who Caroline Sheen is, but she is currently being advertised for the DC run when it plays the Kennedy Center this summer.

Her website says she's joined the Tour, replacing Ashley Brown.

beautywickedlover, like I said above, Caroline is being advertised in DC which will be here this summer. That's obviously AFTER the Tempe stop.

Saw the show Saturday. Had no idea I would enjoy it so much. I was prepared for "cute", but it was so much more than cute. I hope it won a Tony for set design because the sets were fabulous. Caroline Sheen was great and Gavin Lee, well, just wonderful.

I think she will be in it for the Denver Run. I think that was the name they told me. I see it on March 5th.

I just got back from seeing it here in Denver. She's wonderful. The cast it great but I am out to lunch on the show as a whole. Nice special effects. I thought I read somewhere that Burt does not do the procenium thing on the tour. He did it tonight in Denver. Was not crazy about the song "Playing The Game". They should have just kept "Temper, Temper". The scene pretty much has the same vibe anyway. Was a bit disappointed in "Let's Go Fly a Kite". I thought it would be bigger in some way. The sets are fantastic and I do like the music. The highlight of the evening was Ellen Harvey as Miss Andrew. God, what a voice! It is here for a month and I am sure it will have a good run. A few people did leave at intermission and I heard people saying it wasn't what they expected. I am sure people were expecting the movie. And at times, you feel you are watching a movie!

I just caught the first night of the tour stop in Washington, DC at the Kennedy Center. I saw the show in London and again on Broadway, but it was up on Goldstar for discount tickets and I thought "why not?" Sheen was certainly wonderful both acting and singing-wise and Lee, who I missed in NYC, was charming even though I much preferred Gavin Creel in the London production.

I detested the new song "Playing the Game" though I admit I was a fan of "Temper Temper," especially as it was presented" in London so I missed that. Even so "Step in Time," which has long been my favorite part of the show, was still enthralling. While I much prefer the production I saw in London to the Broadway version and now the tour, the tour (thanks to Sheen and Lee) is in great shape and I highly recommend it. It did not disappoint.

The Kennedy Center audience, not usually the most enthusiastic, seemed to really like the show and showed much appreciation. There were a few walkouts (mostly families with very young children), but I think this will be a hit with the DC crowd. I wonder why one would bring kids no more than 6 to an almost 3 hour musical like this, but I digress. I realize some kids have the attention span to sit through things that are a bit dark and heavy (though the London version was far more so than what was presented here), but the average kid who is not an avid theatregoer already? Why waste your money? Do your research ahead of time, parents. This isn't children's theatre or a recreation of a movie.
