Well I will be the first to respond. I really love CoC. I am a huge Avenue Q fan and was so happy when it one best musical. However the more and more I listen to CoC I think it deserved a Tony for Best Score or Best Book. Every word and every note is so perfect in this show. I also hate to say this (b/c I love Idina) but Tonya Pinkins is a POWER house and the more I listen (especially to Lot's Wife) I think she should of taken the Tony award. CoC is a brilliant show and I thank god in this age of big budget over inflated musicals that Broadway has opened its arms to a highly artistic, small show that actually has a lot to say about humanity.

boy do I agree with you. Right now, i'm listening to Coc!!! Lot's Wife blows me away! I do think it deserved score, it's all singing, it must've been alot more work than Q, (although i must saw the Q score is 1 of my favs!) and Tonya did deserve it, she puts so much into her preformance, every night. You can tell she puts her heart in sould into each show! The entire cast is brilliant. ~there's a bomb! PResident Johnson has built a bomb!~ that's the line just sung! haha! i'm a Coc addict, wow, i have problems!

Glad to see an "official" CoC thread, because it deserves to be talked up and kept going on Broadway. I've been passing discount codes to people and practically calling telecharge for them to get them into New York and over to the Eugene O'Neill Theatre to see what will certainly be talked about as a high point of Broadway musical history. I thought my three visits to "Caroline" would suffice (two at the Public and one at the O'Neill), but listening to the cast album made me want to see it again, so I got another ticket. And if I hear it is going to close, I think I'll go see it again (time and money permitting). The only other show I have seen so often is "Chicago." I know being able to return to a Broadway show--or even to see one once--is a luxury (in many senses) and I feel very lucky to be able to do it at this point with "Caroline."

I'm going on Friday!!!!! i'm so excited! I'll be in the front row of the balcony! i don't know what side! Hopefully ANika will be there (she hasn't been the 2 times i've been earlier!)
tabo: I regret to inform you that you CAN'T be a groupie of CorC if you are still a groupie for another show (of which I also am, since we have shots from the same show.) You must change to a Tonya Pinkins shot. It's like having two passports-simply not allowed in certain countries.

Woops... How about right now: Taboo is my Moses and Coc is my God. Two different figures, both have mucho meaning... is that allowed?
Very slick answer--mucho points for chutzpah. Deal!

Yes! I learned at least 1 thing at Sunday School! haha! Wait... now i have to go to Temple and we have to make a special prayerbook. We must change all the Moses's to Taboo's and all the Adonai's (gods) to CoC's. Woah... that's gonna be hard. Maybe they can pipe Safe in the City or Lot's Wife during the service. Everyone will be dancing! haha!
You know I am a shill !!! We are going again on Saturday night for our 5th visit ! LOVE THIS SHOW !!!

Guess this is the place to ask! Most likely seeing the show in August or October.....Should I get the cast recording before I see the show? Or should I wait until afterwards? Thanks!

Caroline, or Change. Great show, and one that doesn't diminish the more I think about it, which is a rare thing.
To those of you who have seen CoC numerous times: is the cast pretty good about signing playbills and taking pics afterwards b/c i'm goin to see this wonderful show for the first time in aug?
I am also a great fan of CoC and I think that it should have won for Best Actress and Best Score now that I've seen it and listened to the cast recording. But being a monday morning quarterback only pays when you're a Democrat.
when i went, there was some interfaith theater group there that had arranged for a discussion w/ tony kushner and the cast so i stayed and watched. it was really good but then they kicked us out b/c of the union but tony said he would meet us outside and i took pictures with him and with the cast. they were so nice and gracious and signed my playbill. anika noni rose even took her glasses off to be in a picture w/ me b/c she didn't want a picture with her glasses on. i don't know how it is just after a performance w/ no discussion but they're all really nice.
the show is amazing. you're going to love it!
There are extremely cordial !!! This past Saturday, got basically the entire cast to sign my Playbill, and Veanne Cox especially was so nice !!!!
