Any chance at all that the wonderful production of Carousel from Lyric Opera in Chicago will be coming to Broadway?

Glad you enjoyed it, but I found it quite disappointing with lots of bizarre directorial choices. I hope it never gets anywhere near NYC. I have heard rumors of another production that is trying to get off the ground here.

I only heard the radio broadcast, but I thought the tempos were too fast (and I usually like a nice, brisk tempo now and then) and that Osnes' breath support was awful. It didn't thrill me like I thought it would, though there is no denying that Pasquale is an ideal Billy Bigelow.

Aside from the Lincoln Center production (which I thought was pretty much perfect) the best recent production I've seen was at Goodpseed a few years ago. James Snyder (Cry Baby) was an excellent Billy. The audience jumped to its feet after his "Soliloquy." Here are a few video highlights.

I was disappointed by the Lyric Opera production. I don't think it is worth transferring, but your mileage may vary. So far there has been no official announcement that it will transfer.

This was discussed quite a bit earlier. There are issues with Houston who helped pay for the Chicago production. And there is no way the Chicago production with the size of the orchestra and chorus could transfer to Broadway.
There could be a new production of Carousel with the same lead actors - but almost everything else would have to be changed. So, it would not be a transfer of the Lyric production.
