Was watching it on TV. Thought it would be fun, if you don't, no need to comment.
Daniel Hillard / Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire
Miranda Hillard
Stuart 'Stu' Dunmeyer
Lydia 'Lydie' Hillard
Christopher 'Chris' Hillard
Natalie 'Nattie' Hillard
Daniel Hillard / Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire: Norbert Leo Butz
Stuart 'Stu' Dunmeyer: Hugh Jackman
Natalie 'Nattie' Hillard: Kristin Chenoweth
Could Harvey Fierstein reprise his role as Frank?

Casting Kristin Chenoweth as Norbert's five year old daughter is inspired!
I immediately thought of Norbert Leo Butz for the lead!

Is Georgi James too old for Nattie?
No role for Ms. Lupone???
For some reason Norbert comes off as too "cool" for Mrs. Doubtfire. I'd give it to Christopher Fitzgerald. Katie finneran for Miranda? They're both a little young but I think it could work. I'd also beef up the roles of the social worker and the uncle and cast Faith Prince and Danny Burstein. Tho I like the idea of bringing Harvey back. Maybe Patrick Wilson as Stu?

Daniel Hillard / Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire: Brian d'Arcy James (He did well under makeup last time too!) OR John Tracy Egan
Miranda Hillard: [Possibly] Megan Mullally
Stuart 'Stu' Dunmeyer: Hugh Jackman OR Raul Esparza
Lydia 'Lydie' Hillard: Allie Trimm
Christopher 'Chris' Hillard: Henry Hodges
Natalie 'Nattie' Hillard: Grab one or two of the Poppins kiddies, and you're golden.

Mrs Doubtfire has Chris Sieber's name all over her.
Playing the lead in a musical version of MRS. DOUBTFIRE has been a dream of mine for YEARS!!!

There is only one Mrs. Doubtfire and that is the amazing internationally gifted and talented Robin Williams. Anybody else would not do the character justice! The musical would never work.
Linda, I have to respectfully disagree. I'm not big on the mania of taking popular films and musicalizing them (GHOST? Puh-leeze!), but I could see this one working really well. It has several moments that would lend themselves nicely to the musical theatre convention and would, in the right hands, actually enhance the original material. I'd say go for it if anyone wanted to actually make a go of it.
SJB as Miranda Hillard! They can just write "Get Out And Stay Out" into the show, right as she kicks him out of the house
Mrs Doubtfire has Chris Sieber's name all over her.
Maybe if she loses some weight! Girlfriend is HUGE!
This is funny. I thought Nathan Lane should be Mrs. Doubtfire.
Barbara Walsh would make a pretty good Miranda.
Daniel Hillard / Mrs. Euphegenia Doubtfire: JOHN TRACY EGAN
Miranda Hillard: Beth Leavel
I can't really think of anybody else.
Who would you want to write the music?
^^ This is going to reek with irony after my withering comments about Bono and SPIDERMAN, but I'd ask Sting to write it. Based on his past four albums, I think he'd turn in a fascinating score, with just the tinge of "Britishness" that Mrs. Doubtfire exudes.
Daniel / Mrs. Doubtfire: John Lithgow
Miranda: Jean Smart
Stewart: Raul Esparza
Uncle Frank: Harvey Fierstein (duh)
Aunt Jack: Norbert Leo Butz
Lydia: Jennifer Damiano
Chris: Gavin Creel
Natalie: Krysta Rodriguez
Jonathan Lunday: Brian Dennehy
Mrs. Selner: Elaine Stritch
Chris Seiber was the first person to come to my mind to play Mrs. Doubtfire.
"I. AM. JOB." will be the show-stopping number!

I'd love to see Larry O'Keefe write the score to this, mostly because I love his prior work and he does very well with pop, which seems like it would suit this show well.

I could see this working with the Production team that brought us Hairspray!.
