Cast for Bright Lights, Big City at the Prince?

Does anyone know who is in the cast of Bright Lights, Big City at the Prince in Philadelphia? I am considering getting tickets to go see it in June, but I was looking for some more info. Can anybody help me out?

I'm very intrigued by this Orfeh as Clara business. I'm only familiar with the recent recording, and never would have thought of Orfeh when considering who could play the role. Also intrigued by Andy Karl as Tad, but again, because I'm used to Jesse L. Martin singing the role, and Andy's not the first person that would come to mind. However, both of them are insanely talented and I'm quite excited to see them in the show. I hope Orfeh has enough to do vocally, and can't wait to hear how Andy's going to sing the part.

Very excited about Jeremy Kushnier as Jamie. I think he'll sound amazing.

I'm very, very excited for this production. I absolutely adore the studio cast recording, and cannot wait for the chance to see Andy on stage again. I can picture him singing Tad's songs perfectly, so I'm really, really pumped to get to see/hear it live.

I'm also really, really excited about seeing Jeremy. I've only had the chance to see him perform in Rent, one time about two years ago, so it'll be really great to see him in something else.

Citrustwist, I'm curious, have you ever heard Orfeh sing? And no, I'm not being a jerk, I'm seriously confused about why you'd "wonder" about Orfeh singing the Clara songs. If you've ever heard her do the Joplin songs and/or the Trailer Park album, I would imagine it would be a walk in the park (no pun intended). I'm extremely excited for this. As for Karl, he is far more in line with the character as it was originally conceived and first put on the screen.

I don't think there's anything Orfeh can't sing and I would pretty much pay to hear her sing any style anywhere. Feinstein's proved that, still reeling from how expensive that place was!

Yes, I've heard Orfeh sing. I'm quite familiar with her vocally, I love her voice and I love her style. It's not that I don't think she'll do a good job, I just never would have thought, being familiar with the most recent cast recording, that it would be a role that she would do. It's not very vocally demanding, if I remember correctly, and I most enjoy Orfeh when she's singing the you know what out of something. Regardless, very excited to see her in yet another show and again, I'm sure she'll be amazing. If anything, it will show off her versatility even more!

Orfeh could sing the phone book and I'd be happy. Same with Andy. The two are immensely talented, and I can't wait to see this. Finally, something good that's closer than NY! And Orfeh will be wonderful as Clara, same with Andy as Tad. They both have such versatile voices, and will be wonderful. I'm also excited about seeing Jeremy as Jamie, who I also think will be great.

all three of them are doing wonderfully!!!

we had a sing thru the other day, and I teared up when Orfeh started singing "my son" she is handling the role very well. both acting and singing. and Andy's voice is great in the role. he is having a great time with it.

and Jeremy is well, Jeremy. he is so intense and focused, and really wonderful in the lead role. Stafford Arima has a really great grasp on the material and knows how to work it. it is going to be quite stunning.

and the whole cast is just wonderful. there are only 11 of us, but they sound like 20. you guys have to come over to see. it's pretty cheap, and it will def. be worth the travel if you are a reasonable distance away.

hope to see you all there.
I gotta go. lunchbreak is almost over, and we are plowing through "coma baby" right now.

Thanks for the update Pippin. As Al pointed out, it's so vocally effortless for Orfeh, that maybe (as Citrustwist suggested), she decided to do it to show a very different side of herself. I appreciate that. And being completely selfish for a moment, I am so over the top excited to see Andy, Orfeh AND Jeremy in a show together, that I'm not too hung up and what it is, or how it's going to be, but moreso on the fact that all that talent is going to be together at one time! I'm already set for one of the last previews.

Show opened in previews last night, opening night is Saturday (I believe).

Did anyone go last night or is planning to go?

And share your love for Pippin (the BWW poster) here!

Indeed, where are all the friends of fishergirl who went to the first preview (other thread). Although, I'm pleasantly surprised that for once, no one is jumping all over an EARLY preview.

I was at the first preview. Sadly, it was the only performance I was able to make, unless they extend.

Jeremy Kushnier is incredible as Jamie. I think this was great casting. His voice was pure and hit all the right notes. Great performance.

Andy and Orfeh were both great. Vocally, Andy really shined in his songs and although there were mike problems, Orfeh's powerhouse voice also came through. Kelli Barnett as Amanda was my a standout for me.. Her voice and acting was fabulous and to me, having never seen or heard of her, i walked out of the theatre remembering her.

If you are going for the talent in the show, definitely go see it. I was not a big fan of most of the staging and it was really hard to follow. Too fast paced - as soon as you processed one aspect, there were ten more things thrown at you, but the music is remniscent of "rent" and it is worth seeing.

I don't know if there will be an extension, becuase when I got my tickets yesterday, the BO person seemed to allude to the fact that it was not selling that well.

Also, the extension would have to be very short as week or 2, as the Philadelphia International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival takes over the Prince mid July for 2 weeks.

I got my tickets for tonight, can't wait to see it. When I was at the box office, it looked like there were still a fair amount of seats available. I am sure once it gets reviewed by The Philadelphia Inquirer ticket sales will go up. That is assuming it gets a positive review (which I am expecing it will).
