Cast of Phantom?!?

Ok sorry if this is old news and i am the only one who doesn't knwo waht is going on but can someone please explain to me what is going on with the Phantom Movie. I was jsut wondering like

who is in the cast?
who is directing it?
what changes they are makin'?

Joel Schumacher directed, Sir ALW produced
Gerard Butler (Dracula 2000) is the Phantom, Emmy Rossum (Mystic River, The Day After Tomorrow) is Christine, Broadway's own Patrick Wilson is Raoul, and Minnie Driver is Carlotta. Minnie is being dubbed...the rest of these folks sing.

World premiere is early December 2004, wide-release Dec 24 or 25

What do you think of Emmy Rossum as Christine? I think they should have picked Christy Romano or I heard Anne Hathaway (Sp?) was considered.

I think she's got the perfect "look" and she's a great actress.
The pictures of her with Patrick Wilson (Raoul) is wonderful. I'm very optimistic. I don't think Anne Hathaway has quite the look of innocence needed for someone as sheltered/torn/manipulated as Christine.
