Posted: 9/3/14 at 12:54amWith Danna's success in Mexico being the youngest Elphaba ever and in my opinion keeps getting better, do you think the other Wicked companies will start casting younger Elphaba's or was Danna lighting in a bottle?

Alison Luff turned 24 while on the 1NT. Emma Hunton, her replacement, just turned 23.

Posted: 9/3/14 at 9:03amYeah, Emma Hunton is young. My only concern with young Elphabas like Emma is that they can do permanent damage to their voice. If they happen to blow out their voice on a show so early in their career, it would be a shame. So I hope they're being careful.

If I was an actress/singer, I would hate to play Elphaba. Yes, she's a big and very coveted role, but I've heard so many horror stories about women blowing out their voices playing the part that I would be a bit turned off from it.
I think young women should wait a bit before trying out the part, so that way they have some time to let their voices mature a bit and get their careers started.
