re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

But, PhantomMag, it seems like you pick Christy Carlson Romano for every single "dream cast" you make.

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

People are so snotty on these boards... I don't know why they are so mean! People always correct people for misspellings but really, it's a message board for gum's sake!! It would be surprising if every single person took the time to edit every little post. Lighten up, people! This is supposed to be fun!!!

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

You bring it upon yourself.

Who chose this dream list? It's awful... I think if I ever see Emmy Rossum in another singing role I'll claw my eyes out. [I agree with JimmyoJimmy] And on top of everything else, a lot of the people chosen for the cast list don't sing... but technically, it doesn't matter if emmy rossum is on your list.

Seriously mag, if you created this list yourself... go learn more about Broadway and the roles you are trying to choose.

Korenglish. Tell me. Does It make you, Gavrochegirl and jimmy'O'jimmy stronger when you make fun of other people on this site.

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

I don't think she made that list herself. A lot of people want to pick known actors because they are people they are familiar with, and they think that they look like those characters. They don't really analyze what they are saying and they don't realize that perhaps those people cannot sing. I would pick Michael McCarthy or Robert Hunt for Javert, Randal Keith as Valjean, Jayne Paterson and Tonya Dixon for Fantine, Noah Galvin for Gavroche, and Melissa Lyons as Eponine.

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

I don't know whether he sings (well) or not, but Liam was already in the Les Miz movie; the non musical version. Geoffrey Rush was also in the same movie as Javert. The movie was actually pretty interesting, but I don't think it did very well at the box office.

My choice for Javert in the musical version = Terrence Mann!

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

I would pick Randel Keith as Valjean, Jason Issacs as Javert, Nicole Kidman as Fantine, Raquel Castro as Young Cosette, Robin Williams as Thenardeir, Paige Davis as Madame Thenardeir, Noah Galvan as Gavroche, Christain Bale as Enjorlas, Jennifer Ellison as Eponine, Christy Carlson Romano as Cosette and Josh Groban as Marius.

Besides I can totally see Paige sing "I used to dream that I would meet a prince. But God Amighty HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT'S HAPPENED SNINCE!" Now that role is PAIGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

mag - It doesn't make me feel stronger making fun of other people on this site... as far as I know, I'm on pretty good terms with most people on this stie. I'm not picking on you just to pick on you, I'm just sick of seeing these dream casts include emmy rossum and christy carlson romano, [though christy is better than emmy] there are MANY so much more talented than these people that always seem to be chosen

regardless... I apologize if you didn't choose the list, but it's still an awful list. --korenglish

Ya know once I considered this. What if Britney Spears played Eponine? HA! She can't even sing! What a fool I was!

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

Nicole Kidman's voice is too thin for Fantine. Personally, I'm for Ruthie Henshall.

As for Cosette... there has to be someone better than Emmy Rossum or Christy Carlson-Romano. From what I've heard, Christy's high notes aren't the best (granted, I'm going off of "Parade" so she may have improved since then,) and Emmy is... no comment. Judy Kuhn's probably too old for the role now... does anyone know how old the Cosette in the Complete Symphonic Recording is now? She was wonderful. Or, this may be random, but I think Celia Konan-Bolger (sp?) would make a great Cosette.

Javert... either Terrence Mann or Phillip Quast re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

Madame Thenardier... Jennifer Butt! She's in the OBC and I saw her in the tour; she is great. As for Thenardier himself, I have to admit I don't really care that much about who plays him, as long as he sings well enough.

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

Tracy Shayne from the CSR (Cosette) was very good. Looking at her photo from that recording, she appears to be in her 20s, and that was made in 1988. So probably she's too old. The current Cosette on the broadway tour is pretty good (I think her name is Leslie Henstock). I saw Amanda Huddleston a couple of years ago and thought that she was pretty good.

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

Thenardier: Yeah, but if he sings badly it will be painful. Hence why I said "well enough."

Lesmisforever: Yeah, I saw Leslie Henstock... she is indeed very good. So she would be a nice choice. re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

Les Miserables is not meant to be filmed as a musical. It's just so theatrical and stage-oriented.

re: Casting for a future Movie of Les Miz

all three of the gavroches ont the poll would be in there late teens before the movie even started, so there is no way any of them could play gavroche.
when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.

Honey, I hate to sound like a total ****but you really need to wake up and smell the cappuccino! Surely you cannot be serious. If so, I might recommend that you do a but more research before posting such things again. It can be taken as insulting and a waste of bandwidth.

PhantomMag...I'm not making fun of you. I'm just sort of annoyed because pratically all of your posts are about dream casts!
