Isn't Fastrada a pretty heavy dance role? It's been played in the past by kick ass dancers such as Leland Palmer and Chita Rivera. "Spread a Little Sunshine" was very much a dance number in the original. I don't know if Lupone or Peters are up to the task. How about Ruthie Henshall or Karen Ziemba? Love the Carole Shelley casting as Bertha!
Stritch as Berthe. period. she's get a standing O on her immaculately delivered first line: "Damn, I hate needlepoint."
Raul Esparza as Leading Player (i mean, have you HEARD his Simple Joys?!?!?!?!?!)...or Darius DeHaas (i mean, have you HEARD his Simple Joys?!?!?!?!?!). I really like the way it was done at the benefit concert, with multiple LPs...put the focus back on Pippin. call me crazy, i think it worked like gangbusters.
Benanti as Catherine...her "Kind of Woman" was far & away the highlight of the Benefit Concert for me, and that says alot, as i really feel it's a throwaway song.
I like Arden for Pippin, but wouldn't be upset if it were Gavin either. Gotta say I adore his voice.
Bebe Neuwirth for Fastrada, if it's *necessary* to have a dancer. she does that whole evil sexy ice queen thing well. Natascia Diaz would be fierce too. Boy, wouldnt Eartha Kitt have made a fantastic Fastrada back in the day?
Terry Mann is a great choice for Charlemagne.
for Lewis...hmmmm...the biggest, buffest, butchest, prettiest chorus boy you can find. i dunno...any suggestions?

I can't believe I didn't think of Stritch as Bertha! The hands down choice!
