Hey, I'm currently writing a paper about the revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, but sadly I cannot get out of Central Illinios and see the production. So I was hoping that somebody who had seen it could tell me any changes or omissions that were made in order for the play to work for an African American cast.
Thanks!

Debbie Allen has given this Tennessee Williams masterpiece a new twist by turning it into a CW-type black sitcom.

Wouldn't it be easier to write a paper on a show you are able to see in person? Like maybe a theater group in Central IL has something?

I dont think thats fair to say off just one review....I think we should wait and see what happens over the next couple of weeks

my paper has to be on Cat on a Hot Tin Roof... it's the play we are reading in my Dramatic Lit class at the moment. I saw that there was this interesting new revival and thought that that would make an interesting paper topic...

I'd have to re-read the play to know which version was used. I know that Allen used both versions, the original and the Williams re-write on Elia Kazan's suggestion, I just can't remember how much of one and how much of the other went in.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
