Sorry if there's already a thread about this. Anyone know it Catch Me is significantly different from when it was running in Seattle? I saw it a couple times when it was there and would be interested in seeing it again in NY if it was pretty different, but if it's basically the same I'd rather see something totally new. I liked it a lot in Seattle, but have a feeling that if given the chance, I should probably go see something else that will be available at TKTS.
The set is very different. No more LCD screen, and the orchestra platform has a new look and layout.
I cannot compare it to the Seattle production, but in all honesty, I can't imagine it's worth seeing again. I don't think Catch Me is awful, but since you aren't already totally jazzed TO see it again, why not try something new?
Overall, its one of those shows that I wouldn't actually RECOMMEND to others, nor would I try to convince anyone OUT of seeing. I found it just to be "meh".

I didn't see Seattle but I'll bet there are. I did see a clip of "Goodbye" from Seattle and didn't really like it, thought it was repetitive, but I did like the Broadway version very, very much and it seemed more exciting and with better lyrics though I'm not sure if it was just seeing it in the context of the show that made the difference. Aaron did seem more self-assured on Broadway, but of course he's had longer doing the show now.
I'm sure Seattle didn't have the budget for the fabulous costumes which I believe have changed some for the Broadway version. I think you will find it fascinating to see the changes from when you saw it in an earlier version, a rare opportunity, and you should go. You can learn a lot about how a show develops into a full-blown rose.
I've seen it twice and enjoyed it even better the second time. They are really putting on a wonderful show that is jazzy and moves at a good clip, and Norbert's dancing is hilarious. Aaron's singing is excellent, very unusual voice. I wonder if he is a "dramatic" or a "heroic" tenor? He doesn't sound quite like the lyrical tenors I've heard.
The character of Cheryl Ann was drastically reduced...Felicia Finley played the role in Seattle..Now Rachelle Rak does as her ensemble track. Also, Cheryl Ann's song "You Gotta Pay For Love" was cut, and I liked it! And Frank Sr.'s song "Fifty Checks" was cut, but is a bonus track on the broadway cast recording. "Fifty Checks" was replaced with "The Pinstripes Are All That They See."
Choreography for Jet Set and Doctor's Orders is also different than that from the Seattle Tryout.
The song Jet Set now features Aaron Tveit singing a solo verse and in my opinion the new choreography is much more tight and very well done.
I am looking forward to their performance on the Tonys tomorrow night!
