Is Anything confirmed with this?
I've heard A. Ashford, Nathan Lane, Christian Borle,
Jerry Mitchell as director
but I'm not sure what to believe as fact and what to believe as rumor.
Aaron Tveit is doing the workshop. That much I know.
I remember that A. Ashford, C. Borle, and N. Lane did a workshop last summer but haven't heard much about it since... I know that they had a workshop like the past two weeks- not sure about who worked in it though.
Here's what I was looking for. From broadway.com's Fresh Faces interview with Aaron...
As a talented and handsome singing actor under 25 who's in no hurry to decamp for Hollywood, Tveit is in demand. He starred as D'Artagnan last summer in a new musical version of The Three Musketeers at the North Shore Music Theatre and has just been tapped for the Leonardo DiCaprio role of a young con artist in the latest staged reading of Catch Me If You Can. “I'm still pinching myself about working with Nathan Lane,” he says of the Tony-winning star, who'll play the FBI agent created on film by Tom Hanks in the forthcoming musical by Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman and Terrence McNally. “I've been blessed at my young age to work with people who are at the top of our profession, and I'm trying not to take for granted all the things that have come to me.”
So it's a staged reading, not a workshop. But it would be awesome! (Though as a huge N2N fan, I'm torn...)
Jack O'Brien is directing.
Jerry Mitchell is choreographing.

Oh are you ****ing kidding me...just shut the **** up please
Is Christian Borle supposed to be the father?
I'm pretty sure I read from a post on this board that Christian Borle is no longer attatched to this.
I never saw the movie but he was supposed to be Leo D.'s character - it seems as though he's no longer attached though
I'm pretty glad Borle is no longer attached, to this day I am puzzled by the fact he is a Tony-nominated actor over the likes of Jason Danieley. He's not a bad actor, he's just so terribly bland.
Rachelle Rak had a part in this show at one point, wonder if she's still attached. She has to be one of the must underrated performers in the business.
There's not really any good female roles in the movie. Just a series of women he impresses with his lies, but none really seem memorable.
Article about her from Broadway.com
Catch Her If You Can: With her Cameron Diaz-ish looks and a speaking voice that's reminiscent of Kristin Chenoweth, Ashford seems primed for big things in the New York theatrical world. Indeed, she's already been plucked to play the ingenue Brenda (created on film by Amy Adams) in a staged reading of the Marc Shaiman/Scott Wittman/Terrence McNally musical Catch Me If You Can on July 17. "I just want to work," Ashford says. "I don't care where I do it. Whether it's singing or dancing or acting, this is it for me."
I didn't see the movie so I don't know- but if the role is substantial enough for her to leave Wicked, maybe they altered the movie to musical form with a more significant love figure? Legally Blonde enhanced emmet and elle like woah to fit the musical.
You're right, Tazber, the film belongs to the two men (though I think Adams made a big impression as Brenda, foreshadowing her Oscar-nominated turn in JUNEBUG and her star-making turn in ENCHANTED). Eve Jen Garner has a nifty cameo role that I think still matters for our understanding of the Leonardo DiCaprio role.
I would have liked seeing Erin Davie as Brenda though. I believe Gettelfinger was supposed to play the Jennifer Garner part, but I think she's out touring with Three Graces.
Annaleigh Ashford played Brenda in the previous reading back in July, which is what that Broadway.com article is referring to. Celia Keenan-Bolger played the role prior to that. While I'm not sure whether or not Ashford is a part of the current reading, I know she isn't leaving WICKED by choice to do it (her contract was not renewed.)
I believe Nathan Lane and Louise Pitre are back, as is (I believe) Tom Wopat.

Tom Wopat is in A CATERED AFFAIR. Can he do both?
Were the people singing on the demo ever attached to play those roles (females) or were they just doing favors? An original role for Patti would be awesome!

Christian Borle is too old and not charming enough for the role. He also re-auditioned for it and didn't get it.
Other names went in as well, Michael Arden, Max Von Essen, Matt Morrison, and Aaron Tveit won the role over all of them.
Good looking, good voice, good actor. He is the next young up and coming tenor.
I'm thankful that Borle is no longer attached to this. I really don't understand his appeal. And I'm sorry, but this character is supposed to be pretty darn suave and charming...so they turned to Christian Borle??! Sorry, but lost on me.
And excuse my ignorance, but what is "N2N"? I didn't understand that reference earlier.
Nathan Lane was on The View a few weeks ago and said he was currently working on this. He sounded very excited about it!
did he say anythign about anyone else being attached?
I'm SO excited for Louise Pitre's return to Broadway. LOVE her. Does anyone know when they actually start rehearsals/previews?
I was always frustrated with that movie because of the lack of interesting female characters. Even if they expand Brenda's role, the part is still basically a two-dimensional ingenue with nothing much to do with the story, except a generic love interest.
That bothers me.
It's a staged reading as in No previews/ No need to leave a current Bway contract. One night only performance. Maybe 2 shows tops. Not a production, just a reading.
