You'd better take your fingers out of your ears if you expect to hear Toni onstage. In fact you'd better bring a hearing aid and turn that baby up all the way if you want to hear her.

Celia is perfect, but Ashley Brown from On The Record would be even better IMO

I said as soon as I heard of this musical, I want Kerry Butler, Myself, or Sutton to be Ariel. Then I saw Ashley Brown and said OR HER!!! she is awesome...

but I still want it to be me..:)

Thanks Emcee. :) Craig everyones entitled to their opinon obviously. And I have heard Kerry sing "Part of Your World" and didn't like it at all. She was great in Hairspray, but she is no where near my first choice for Ariel. Granted I haven't heard Celia in this role but I adore her voice and think she would be a great fit for the role.

...how do you mean you "don't mean this mean but she might not be pretty enough"? That's crazy, of course it's mean, of course you meant it that way, don't apologize for it.

Who is? Cause honestly, I think Sutton is beautiful (and it seems, though it's INSANE, that I'm in a minority which is just ridiculous) but...girl makes some real not right, not attractive faces on stage (as do a lot of people I'm finding...Julia Murney does the same thing - what is that trend about?)...

I dunno, putting Celia in this role, when I first read that...just seems like an excellent fit, I can't explain it. Having seen her in SB...I just see it. And I think her and Cheyenne look really good together. Who knows if ultimately it'll be the two of them if/when it goes to Broadway, but...I dunno, she looks like an embodiment of Ariel to me, all of her qualities really capture how I envision Ariel as a person and not a cartoon.

I'm sure there'll be many more to go through the role so let's not fret just yet, how's that? :)

Whoever your friend is, he's a jerk for telling you this and you even more for posting it online. Whether it's true or if she would be good (yes, she would) is not the point. How awful to take something one has overheard and post it. The world is not entitled to pry into everyone's life. I overhear performers say many interesting things that would invoke much conversation on here but I wouldn't dream of posting it, that's just wrong and unfair to shout out all over the internet. Shame on you.
