I am going to be in New York during the first week of April and I was wondering what my chances would be to get cheap balcony seats: The fourty dollar ones to Wicked without reserving?
If that is possible, how good are the seats?
Thanks in advance!!!

Well first their $50, and even though I've never sat there I've heard that they are not bad at all. I've sat in the front mezzanine and it's not much furthrer back. But that mezzanine is alot further back than in most theaters. Also they have seats on the extreme sides of the orchestra considered limited pratial- view which are $55 which I would def get over rear mezz especially if you have already seen the show.
Your best shot is the lottery.
Umm.. as in next week? Good luck
I would say zero. There are almost never mezzinine tickets on the cancelation line and they are almost always sold out. You might get lucky if you try ticketmaster, but I highly doubt it.

I booked tickets to Wicked two weeks ago, and the first (single) seat I found in either mid or rear Mez ($50-75) was April 29.
The lottery is notoriously difficult to win, especially now that we're headed into spring.
Good luck...
