I have two extra tickets to The Secret Life Of Bees at Vassar's Powerhouse Theater this Saturday 7/29 at 2pm. $30 each. This is a new musical adapted from the book, with music by Duncan Sheik, lyrics by Susan Birkenhead, book by Lynn Nottage, and direction by Sam Gold. The workshop stars Uzo Aduba from Orange is the New Black and the run is sold out.

what day do you want to go?
i went this past saturday. I got there at 7:50 and there were already 23 people ahead of me. The first person in line had gotten there at 5:45. By 10:00, there were 56 people in line. It was crazy. Luckily i got front row on the side aisle. So i would suggest getting there no later than 7:30.

The Color Purple has General Rush, so you can do it even if you aren't a student. I would highly recommend that you do it. If you do decide to though, go early. And i mean VERY early. I went this past Saturday and got there at 7:50AM for tickets that go onsale at 10AM and there were already 23 people ahead of me. The first woman in line had gotten there at 5:45AM. Luckily, i got tickets. You have to be determined and patient but it's definitely worth it!

gypsy2, you need 1 student ID to get two tickets. So if you wanted four, you would need to show two people's IDs.

what time should i get there on a saturday to get matinee tickets? I need to get 5, so should i get there earlier to be sure not to get the last ones and possibly run out before i get 5?

its super easy...i did a saturday matinee with my friend and there were only about 15-20 people there. both of our names got called.
