Is the Broadhurst small? Does anyone have pictures?
I really wish they would use the Palace. *Sigh*
#4re: Changes To The Les Miz Revival?
Posted: 6/28/06 at 1:43amThey won't have to, since the tour is bringing its own.

There is a good bit of info here, as well as some pictures.

Based on the stage dimensions listed, the Broadhurst is a few inches wider, and just a bit more shallow than the Imperial. The show should have no problems fitting into the theatre.
My big question is whether the original orchestrations will be used or the touring ones(with the strings done on a keyboard.)

It is going to be scaled down in almost every aspect by about 10-15%.
Cast size, orchestra size, sets, costumes, although the ticket prices are higher...

Cast size? Really? Because as it is, they have two -- occasionally three -- understudies for each role, plus two who generally cover nobody, and it works out perfectly mathematically. Not to mention two swings for each gender.
(Above goes for the tour as well as the final Broadway cast.)
There are so many characters it'd be difficult to figure out who to condense.

They made some modifications to the London production a few years ago. They were extremely subtle, but made the production all the more tighter, and I hope that we see them in the Broadway revival, if we aren't already seeing them on the tour.

Well, as long as that stupid "For certain as the eagle flies, the people too must rise" line isn't there, I'll be happy.

Bret and Thesbijean said it best. From what I have heard from lots of different sources, it'll look, sound and be the same costume wise. They will have to scale down the size of the sets, but visually they will be the same.
There may be subtle changes to the lyrics...

It's the national tour, just in a Broadway house, isn't it?
Ha. Unmiked. What a joke. I wish.

No. Last I heard, Gemignani, Lewis, Rubin-Vega, Beach, Michele, etc. weren't on the tour...
Although some tour people will be there
#14re: Changes To The Les Miz Revival?
Posted: 6/28/06 at 1:22pmI meant technically. It's the National Tour's set and such. It's not being expanded or anything for the remount.
