Character Flaws in Hagiographies

I saw the tour of "On Your Feet" last night and learned that Gloria Estefan was a beautiful star who overcame a disapproving mother and a car accident with the help of her not-at-all-sketchy older manager husband.

It got me thinking about other musical bios and the types of character flaws their subjects are allowed to have.

Self loathing - Fanny Brice, Gypsy Rose Lee
Infidelity - Hamilton, Barnum, Peter Allen
Bullying - John Adams, Hamilton
Bad parenting - Frankie Valli
Breaking up an engagement (sort of) - Maria van Trapp
