So, "Sweet Charity" is already set to record their Cast Recording, even before they've reached Broadway, for a May release...and yet "La Cage" is still Cast Recording-less. Not to downplay Charity in any way because I couldn't be more excited to see it. But it hasn't reached Broadway yet and it already has a recording deal while La Cage goes without one. Somebody please record La Cage, already!

I'd rather have a Charity recording than a La Cage recording. The revival of La Cage had me snoring.

And yet, "Good Vibrations" is a welcome addition to Broadway because everyone left the theatre smiling and feeling a little bit better when they came in, huh? You may not like "La Cage", but it definitely carries that same distinction, if nothing else. Many people cherish the show and love the revival and they should feel free to express good wishes for the production and a cast recording without those kinds of comments. But that's JMO.
I saw La Cage and loved it! La romance! La spectacle!
But I don't really think a cast recording is necessary. I am a big fan of Jerry's work, but I don't like the music to La Cage. The only song I found memorable was "I am what I am"...The dancing, however, kept the show alive, and made it what it was. Jerry is amazing, and showed us all once again!

You're right. There are already at least three recordings of LA CAGE available, but a video of the new production would be wonderful. The glamour! The dancing! That's what needs to be preserved.

Nono. I love the show. Just not this production. I think we can do without a recording of it because, although I believe Beach's I AM WHAT I AM should be put down in history, the rest of it isn't really worthy.
Really? Hmmm...I thought it was fabulous...but that's just my opinion. A very remarkable score and performance in my mind.
