What is the word of mouth like on the show and are there any discounts for students or anything besides the ones on broadwaybox and theatermania?
its on ticketcentral but the student code i used for 50 words isnt working for it...
thanks in advance!
Can't advise you about cheap tix. I volunteer usher in order to see the show, but there weren't allot of empty seats last night.
As for how is it:
Well, after falling in love with his beautiful screenplay for "Longtime Companion" I must confess to having been disappointed by everything Craig Lucas has written since, and this one is no exception. Although there is some really lovely writing, I haven't a clue what the man is trying to get across with this one. That said, Playwrights Horizons has given him the most glorious production imaginable.
Bartlett Sher does "simple," simply beautifully, and the cast is out of a dream.
The revelation, for me, being Victoria Clark, who I feel has been pretty much miscast since "Piazza" as a glamour puss or a broad comedienne, neither of which she is. The lady is a supreme character woman with the innate ability to imbue her eccentricities with complete honesty and truth. Really, my mouth fell open every time she exited the stage after nailing yet another one of her many talking to the audience monologues. It's an example of the actors craft, the level of which, all of us striving artists dream of one day achieving.
Johnny Groff is adorable and so good, your forget he's made his career as a singer.
In fact, it isn't until the final scene when the cast is finally called upon to raise their voices in song, that you realize that you have just spent an evening in the company of some of the finest musical performers of our day. And what a sound Victoria, Johnny and Michele make!
Yeah, I would, by hook or crook, get there.
These are the first words I've heard over this! I'm hoping (probably against hope) that this gets extended...just a week...so that I can see it on Christmas NY jaunt! Any words wandering about that?????

I expected to get there today, but something came up. Luckily, I'm a subscriber so rescheduling shouldn't be difficult.
