Ok, so as I've said, I bought my Spamalot tickets. Anyone who's been to the Shubert, are these seats worth the price? This is for two tickets:

Spamalot
Shubert Theatre
07/20/05 at 2:00 PM
2 Tickets, Right Balcony Row D seats 6-8
Total Cost: $147.00

How are these seats? They were just about the only ones I could find, this show is like completely sold out well into Sept.

Oh yes, does anyone know if Tim, Hank, and David will still be around for this show? Updated On: 4/6/05 at 11:28 PM

It's a small theatre so as far as I know any seat is good. I've sat in the last row of orchestra and the last row of balcony in the shubert and it was closer then mezzanine or supposedly better seats in other theatres.

Hmm, that sucks. I hope the rumors of getting Robin Williams are true.

You consider the Shubert a "small" theatre?

The Shubert's a small theatre? You're kidding me, right? It's one of the largest broadway houses. Where are you getting your information?

As for the seats, take em. That's probably the best you're gonna get for a good long while. Rumors of Robin Williams filling in for Hank are false.

No clue... I can see if I can find out though.

By the way, we are talking about the NYC Shubert.

Does anyone have pics of it on the inside/outside?

Yes, Im well aware that we're talking about the Shubert in NYC. It's one of the largest broadway houses capacity wise. I have pictures of the inside somewhere, but I really can't share them because by rights, you're not allowed to have them.... The ones from inside that I CAN share won't help you see it's size because they were taken on the sets of Chicago and Gypsy; therefore not facing the audience.

You can find pictures of the outside if you google it, or just look at the Spamalot Opening Night photos here on BWW -- there's an outside shot of the theatre.

$147 for both seats? Not bad at all. We paid $36 per ticket when we saw the show in previews back in February...and those were in the balcony as well. I suppose the ticket prices went up after the show officially opened. I don't know how that works. Anyway...I thought they were great seats!

It's the front of the balcony, so it should be ok. The last two rows are awful, however. Because of the angle, the top half of the stage is not visible. The same happens in the rear orchestra due to the overhang of the mezzanine. I noticed this when I saw Big. It had two-story houses in the set design and I could never see what was happening in the upper story.

Relax, there is no way that Hank's replacement will be "some shmuck." The producers of this show, not to mention Mike Nichols and Eric Idle, are way too smart for that. I know originally Michael McGrath was supposed to do it, but they loved him as Patsy so much he's basically now permanently in that role (which he's great at!)

I doubt it would be John Bolton, also, since he understudies Curry, Pierce and Sieber as well.

I bet they'll try to get some sort of a name....regardless of whether its Robin Williams or whoever...but Spamalot basically proves that names don't matter - Christian Borle, Sara Ramirez, and Sieber aren't names, and they're scoring just as many laughs as Curry, Pierce, and Azaria.:)

Gosh, I heart this show.:)

I don't mind if it's not a big name, but I would like it to be someone with a name, as bad as that might sound.

I'm in a good mood tonight, so I'll type out my playbill. Just so you know, this is from the previews in Chicago, so some songs have been removed and such.

Act 1
Fisch Schlapping Song
King Arthur's Song
I Am Not Dead Yet
Come With Me
The Song That Goes Like This
Burn Her!
All For One
Knights of the Round Table
The Song That Goes Like This (Reprise)
Find Your Grail
The Cow Song (This is the one I believe to have been cut...not a huge loss...kinda s boring, useless song IMO :) )
Run Away

Act 2
Always Look On The Bright Side of Live
Brave Sir Robin
You Won't Succeed on Broadway
The Diva's Lament
Where Are You?
Here Are You
His Name is Lancelot
I'm All Alone
The Song That Goes Like This (Reprise)
The Holy Grail
Find Your Grail Finale - Medley

Hope that helps.

"Burn Her" is also gone, as is the entire witch burning scene. Unfortunately, there was a lot of cutting and very little put in to replace it. I love the movie and the show had awesome moments but so much just seemed thrown together. It is well worth seeing and very enjoyable all in all though. Have fun.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.
