"Kristin Chenoweth and Roger Bart will be the stars of this May's Encores! presentation, Stairway to Paradise: An Original "Encores!" Production: 50 Years of Revues in Review.
This is according to the Playbill of Kristin's wonderful concert at the Met last night."

Anyone know anything about the production?

All I do know is that this is ENCORES!' first original production and it's part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Ziegfeld Follies, which is the reason why the first show they are doing is "Follies." So I don't know but it sounds like it's going to be like the Ziegfeld Follies and it sounds like there's going to be music from the classics like Gershwin, Berlin, etc.
It's playing from May 10-May 14 and apparently, tickets are already on sale.
I think it is just going to be a compilation of sketches wit a star studded cast (If Kristin and Roger Bart are doing this already Encores! will probably get some other great stars). The musical director is Paul Gemignani. I can't wait for the Kristin Chenoweth and Roger Bart reunion!
She works with the same people a lot.

Is the Chenoweth-Bart casting in the May Encores! show an indication that both The Apple Tree and The Producers will be closing before the rehearsals for Stairway to Paradise?
The Producers unoffical closing date is July 4th, according to a cast member.
and we already know that Apple Tree is closing March 11

^^ Yeah, it was a limited engagement anyway. But I don't know how you can possibly say that about The Producers, though.
I think Roger Bart already left The Producers anyway to start filming a movie or tv show...there was a thread on this last week. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
He leaves today.
They also worked together in the 2000 Encores! production of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever. They were both excellent as was Brent Barrett who did the most thrilling rendition of "She Wasn't You" I have ever heard.
