Chess In Concert

What did everyone think of this performance? I've heard Idina didn't get many favourable reviews, but thought she suited the role well.
I must say Pellow as the Arbiter didn't turn out well, he sounds as if he had no voice at all during that performance.

What did everyone else think?

re: Chess In Concert

I didn't like Idina at all. I thought her voice sounded right for the role only about half of the time. I don't think her acting was right either. She seemed very unsure of herself up there.

I loved Josh Groban. I had my doubts, but he proved me wrong.

I thought Adam Pascal was great too, but I love him in anything.

The rest were fine, but I do agree with you about Pellow.

re: Chess In Concert

i thought it was absulutely fantastic. the combination of pascal, groban and menzel was golden. highlights, in my opinion were groban's "where i want to be", pascal's "pity the child" and "one night in bangkok", menzel and ellis's "i know him so well", and the mountain duet. i had never heard chess before that concert and i have now come to really, really enjoy the musical. i think it would be great if this concert or something like it came to nyc as well as london. :)

I wasn't thrilled with the cast, but I liked a lot of the revisions.

re: Chess In Concert

Hated Idina in this role, I Think she was miscast, did not like Josh either (though I respect both as singers, just not in these roles)
Did not like Pellow, but adored Kerry Ellis and Adam Pascal
I would have loved Raul Esparza, Julia Murney and Anthony Warlow or Rob Evan, that would my dream cast
