Chess Revival

Is their any news abut a possible revival of the rock-opera Chess. This is one of my favorite shows and I think that score is just brilliant. The reason I am asking about this is because in a recent NY Times article with Gerald Schoenfeld it mentioned the Shubert Organization was working on bringing back a retooled version of this classic. Also I know that both Benny and Bjorn have stated their interest in reviving their show.

re: Chess Revival

There were rumours a little while back - in fact a proposed concert version was withdrawn from the Cardiff International Festival of Musical Theatre because it was being changed for a future production. However, I think that Benny and Bjorn are concentrating on getting Kristina to the stage first, so Chess may have gone on the back burner...

Just out of interest, for those Chess fans, here's a fascinating description of the show's evolution:

Thanks for the link, rockfenris2005. I do wonder why they decided to change what had been so successful in London for Broadway.
"`I grow old... I grow old... I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.` What does that mean, Mr. Marlowe?" "Not a bloody thing. It just sounds good." He smiled. "That is from the `Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.` Here's another one. `In the room women come and go/Talking of Michael Angelo.' Does that suggest anything to you, sir?" "Yeah -- it suggests to me that the guy didn't know very much about women." "My sentiments exactly, sir. Nonetheless I admire T. S. Eliot very much." "Did you say, 'nonetheless'?" - The Long Goodbye by Raymond Chandler

I read the bio of Tim Rice on Evita playbill. He mentioned he's still working on the book of chess.
