I've got a question about this...

Which recording would be the closest to the concert The Actors Fund did? Julia Murney, Adam Pascal, Raul Esparza, Sutton Foster, and Josh Groban. Perfect.

Danish Tour.

It has even more than the Benefit did.

The cast, on that recording, is great. The material sounds amazing. Molokov actually uses a Russian accent - or is Russian - which makes it easier.

There are two versions of the Danish tour. Try to get the complete version. It has two additioanl songs on it... one has a German name and the other is a a song about press in various newspapers. Both names are escaping me and I am not any where near my CD- Sorry, I'll try to find out ofr you.

The Broadway cast CHESS is out-of-print in North America, and has been for 8 years now. The authors were apparently unhappy with the form the show took on Broadway. But the recording is available in the U.k. (See: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000026F9T/ref=pd_sim_pm_dp_3/202-7811051-5133420)

Sam French at one time was selling the script for the Broadway version but I do not think they still offer it.)

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

London concept or Chess in Concert. The Danish tour is my east favorite. More synthesizers, smaller orchestrations, less focused story (especially the end), awful Freddy. And a particularly bizarre attempt at a southern accent.
