Hello, I know in the Pre-Broadway Try-Outs, Both Roxie and Velma sang this song as a "solo" duet. But after Gwen inhaled that feather and Liza had to step in, it was suddenly a solo for Roxie. Does anybody know why this happened? Was it because Liza was such a brilliant singer that they decided to give her another solo in addition to "Funny Honey", "Roxie", part of "Me and my Baby", and the first section of "Nowadays"?

And of course, "Roxie."

Yes, it was to give Liza another big solo moment. I think this was discussed on here before, but I can't really recall. I seem to remember reading that Chita was content with stepping aside.

Liza has used the song on-and-off in her act ever since.

Which song? It appears any reference to the name has been edited out of the post.

Many people are great technical singers, but if you can't ACT, fuggedaboudit. What a rendition! Thanks PJ
