Wil there be anything special happening next yearwhen the revival turns 10 ala Les Mis, plus should the stage production be videotaped and put on Great Performancesor should be a dream-cast concert with the best performers from the worlwide casts or should there be a dream cast like les mis, but instead of concert do the show fully staged.

I don't know, but I personally think they should do a dream cast and tape it and sell it so we can own it
I wish they had taped the original production of CHICAGO. Then everyone could get the chance to experience the show with costumes, scenery, and the FOSSE choreography.
Morosco, I agree with you. Mr. Fosse would be turning in his grave. After this revival showed a profit he would have been demanding they bring back the scenery and costumes. Mr. Fosse would NOT have been happy with the cheap look of the revival.
IT would be nice if the show could have legends as the original did (Verdon and Rivera) and theater luminaries like Jerry Orbach, Mary McCartey(sp?) and Barney Martin.
PART of the fun of the original CHICAGO was,,,,,,where did Velma and Roxie leave off and where did Gwen and Chita begin.......? They were glorious together.
Mr Fosse ( who spoke to us at a NYU seminar while getting "Big Deal" ready for broadway) would have been thrilled with this Chicago. Which by the way... in my opinion works alot better than the original. He also would have been nothing but supportive with anything Ann worked on. I do hope they tape this production.
ONCE AGAIN! WISH makes another idiotic and incorrect post!
WISH has never even seen the Revival. He has absolutely no right to talk, because he has not even seen this production. the show does not look cheap, you idiot. It has a deep and dark look.
Even Gwen Verdon stated - she thinks the revival is even better than Fosse's original production.
SO WISH - Don't speak on what you don't know.
Maybe you should see the revival - than base an opinion on the revival.
"Mr Fosse...would have been thrilled with this Chicago. Which by the way... in my opinion works alot better than the original."
No way!
Well Morosco;
That is just my opinion. I did see both and have loved both versions. I do prefer the revival.
I saw the original several times and I've seen the revival several times. And my opinion is that the revival does in fact look cheap. A poor man's FOSSE if you will. But that's just my humble opinion.

Part of the reason the revival looks the way it does has to do with the fact that it transferred from City Center's Encores! I think it works great as well.

It would be great if they did some kind of a 'dream cast' thing with CHICAGO!
I'd like to see Chita Rivera as Roxie (the best Roxie I've ever seen!!!) and Bebe as Velma.
