I haven't seen it on Broadway in a while because I've yet to see a cast that can top the original company. Everyone was brilliant in their performances and I've found most replacements just don't have that extra something special but then again a great deal of the original company had worked with Bob Fosse.

The show itself is great and I'm sure you will love it. Underneath all the razzle-dazzle of it all, it does make you think about society. Tell us what you think when you get back.

PS: Am I the only one who didn't care for Ute's Velma?

I've heard Ute had the best high kicks out of all the Velmas.

Oh, no way! Bebe's were WAY better! Ute had no where the dancing skills that Bebe has.

Wow. See, I've heard from some that they thought Ute was one of the best danced Velmas ever.

I think listening to her trying to cover up her thick German accent was probally a turn off for some people.

Although I love Bebe. It's a little obvious that Ute can sing circles around her.

So many different opinions in the world of Chicago.

I love Bebe's Velma though-although Chita's is the one and only, judging from the recording. For some reason I don't think Velma and Roxie are roles that need to be sung by amazing belters but by actresses that can get that dark tone necessary for those roles. I've only heard Bebe's and Ute's Velmas on recording but I believe both add their special touch to the role. I do think that Ruthie Henshall's Roxie is better acted than Reinking's (I don't mean that Reinking did not do a good job). I ask one more time, anyone has any thoughts on Frances Rufelle (for those who don't know who she is, she is the original Eponine-my favorite one even over Lea Salonga's-and she's being on the West End company of Chicago for a while.)

This is really late, but I didn't get a chance to see Chicago on 09/17/05 because they sold out of rush, so I saw The Producers instead.
