It's free, I would assume anyway since they always are. But do you have to buy it that morning at there store like for RENT. OR is it going to be just walk up and get it signed like Drowsy.

was anyone there? I went, it was pretty cool, except Ann Reinking was not there. It was Joel Grey, James Naughton, and Bebe Neuwirth.

I went to the Chicago CD signing, and I was very disappointed. First, you had to go in the morning to buy the anniversary CD and receive a wristband for priority line placement. I didn't mind buying the CD, but that's the only thing they would sign. Also, no pictures could be taken with the cast. They only allowed pictures from far away, not when you were getting the CD signed. Ann Reinking never showed. We were told that she was "sick" right before the signing started. If I'd had known that or they would have at least announced it a little earlier, (I was on line since 3:30) I would have left. She was the one I really wanted to see. Since I invested all of this time already, I went up for other autographs from the cast. Last, but certainly not least, the wristband thing was BS. I saw people on line without one, ahead of me. Not at all what I expected, although it never is...

Was Joel Grey nice? (I've always wanted to meet him.)

Honestly, Joel Gray was O.K. Didn't really speak much; I told him how I loved the show, he said thanks. Not very much conversation because you were rushed along....

Here was my experience at the signing last night:

Left work at 530pm, in the all-day rain of NYC.
Walked around the corner from work to the Virgin Megastore and found someone who worked there and asked them if the signing was still going on and if i didnt have a braclet, would I still be able to get the box set signed? He said yes, and it was still going on in the DVD section in the bottom floor. So I went downstairs and found, almost no one. I think the rain must have kept the huge crowds they were expecting away. And also kept Ann Rienking away because she was not there. So it was only the 3 - Joel Grey, Bebe Neuwirth (sp) and James Naughton. There was only about 5 people ahead of me and they went quickly. A slightly imposing woman took the box set from me, said "cover okay?" but it wasnt really a question, and placed it on the platform stage they had set up for them. James signed it, pased it to Bebe and she passed it to Joel Grey, who was watching the big screens
they had set up playing the DVD from the box set. At least 3 minutes went by and Grey kept watching the TVs and talking to Bebe and looked down to see the now 3 or 4 sets piled up
in front of him. He signed it quickly and handed it to the slightly imposing man standing there who then handed it to me. Thats it. I said thank you to Grey, who nodded I think and i walked away. There were maybe 3 people behind me and that was it. I got there at 540pm and was done by 550pm.
The signing was supposed to go from 5-7pm. I finally found the TV section (they keep moving stuff in there), looking for the Grosse Pointe complete series collection (apparently only on sale at amazon.com), and as i headed for the esclators to exit, i ran right into James Naughton. I guess they called the second hour of the signing due to the lack of interest and the rain.

Cool to have it signed - the experience, not so much.

I didn't know anything about this signing, but I just happened to be there between shows yesterday. There was a very short line, and it appeared to be moving rather quickly.
