Chicago Stunt Casting with Rita Wilson aka Mrs. Tom Hanks

The first thing Tom Hanks did when he got out of his Limo was to take a picture of the marquee with Rita Wilson's name on it. People were just screaming his name. He then quickly ran into the theater.

As he sat in the balcony family and friends, Candice Bergen, Diane Sawyer and Mike Nichols, Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scafalia, Jann Wenner and boyfriend, Dan Ackroyd and Donna Dixon, and Jimmy Fallon, many people in the audience started taking pictures of them with their camera's, cell phone's PDA's, prompting Tom to stand up and start shooting photos of them too. Finally the house manager came over the PA and said, anyone caught taking photos will be ejected. At which point Tom said ahhhh come on, and then said OK just let them take one last picture at which point Tom stood up and waved to the crowd for a few minutes. They took their picture, then he sat down and everyone's camera's went away for the rest of the show.

The show went well, she held her own. She can sing, she can dance.

It's nice to have a more mature Roxie.

Well usually each summer and occasionally throughout the year, The Weisslers will cast a star who does not usually do theatre, as Roxie - to help boost sales.

I did enjoy it. She was obviously terrified at the beginning, you could really hear her shaking during Funny Hunny but once she calmed down a bit, she really came into her own. She was a lot of fun to watch and her singing was very good. By the end, she had calmed down and seemed to be having a ton of fun. It was worth doing SRO (my friends and I didn't realize that it was her first night so we didn't expect to have trouble getting tickets or the mob scene that happened). We also got to meet Tom Hanks and Jimmy Fallon. (Dianne Sawyer, Candice Bergen, Mike Nichols, Dan Ackroid and bunch of others were there too.)

Ehh. I think Melanie has been the only one to have done that HIGHLY toned down choreography. It was turned into clapping on beat, and step touch, oh and she attempted a cart-wheel!

Brooke Shields, Robin Givens and other stars have done all the original Reinking choreography.

I'm sure Rita does too, though she's probally doing a level 1 or level 2 ME AND MY BABY.

Her act 2 dress is different, she has a bow thing and also sth around her neck like Chita's. And am I the only one who didn't like her long hair as Roxie?

OMG Rita Wilson will be 50 in October. She looks fabulous. Bless her heart. Dancing and singing on Broadway at her age. There is not alot of jobs for 50 year old actresses in Hollywood. I hope she does well. I just heard she has added two more weeks to her run. I wish I could see her!!!!

Well, Madonna and Miss Rivera have been dancing for years. I have never heard of Rita doing any musicals. Roxie Hart is not a easy part. I am amazed that Rita is doing it and doing it well!!!I saw Patti L., Tyne Daly and Cynthia Nixon in March and they blew me away!!
