Chicago's Next Elphaba?

I can't find another place where this was mentioned even as a rumour, but I on MSN today I found an update on the cast of Family Matters and this was mentioned. Any truth to it?

Kellie Shanygne Williams: Now
After her time on 'Family Matters,' Kelli Shanygne Williams enrolled and graduated from UCLA majoring in psychology. She has appeared in such stage productions as 'Joe Turner's Come and Gone,' and 'Goin' Home,' and is gearing up to be a replacement in the role of Elphaba in the Chicago production of the hit musical 'Wicked.' In 2006, the 32-year old actress moved back to her hometown, Washington, D.C. to start a fine arts program for young people at Howard University's Children's Theatre.

re: Chicago's Next Elphaba?

Isn't that production closing in Jan, or Have they decided to extend the run further? I could see her making a very good elphaba, I haven't really heard her sing before....didn't even know she could....she at least looks like she would make a good elphaba(whatever that means lol).

re: Chicago's Next Elphaba?

According to wikipedia(I know, not the moast reliable, especially when it comes to this stuff) she is replacing Jennifer DiNoia as stanby. Who would want to replace the standby in the last month of a run? Whatever, we'll see what happens...maybe she'll replace an elphaba in the future(nicole parker, maybe).

re: Chicago's Next Elphaba?

Chicago's Wicked is closing. The sets and majority cast are going to the 2nd tour. Marcie Dodd (Current Broadway Elphaba) will be leading the tour.

re: Chicago's Next Elphaba?

The more I think about this the more confused I get. Could they have gotten their facts wrong? Perhaps she is taking over for another production. Does anyone know when Donna Vivino's contract expires? It just seems so weird, there HAS to be some truth.

re: Chicago's Next Elphaba?

I'm stoked too lakezurich.

As for the topic I don't think Jen D is leaving before the show ends since she is only coming to Broadway in Feb.

^Alyssa? You mean Alyssa Fox or whatever her name is? Jen Dinoia is coming to Broadway to be standby and Chelsea Krombach isn't going anywhere either.

re: Chicago's Next Elphaba?

I know. But Alyssa is going to be the next principal in whichever US company has an opening. Which most likely will be Broadway.

Maybe standby for the 2nd Tour? I think someone just got their signals crossed and it's a mistake.

"And Di Noia is replacing Julie Reiber as the Broadway standby in February."

So is Julie Reiber staying until Feb.?
I thought she was leaving this month or had already left for some reason. Or is someone else coming in for a short time until Jenny gets here? I really want to see Julie.
