I was at the Children of Eden benefit a few years back, and I was just thinking about it the other day. It was an amazing show, and the music is great for showcasing some younger actors/actresses. Performing at this show were Julia Murney (now Elphaba on tour with Wicked), Kate Shindle (a favorite of mine, saw her in Cabaret at the Westchester Theatre about a year or so ago), Darius deHaas (amazing), Norm Lewis (rumored to be Javert in the Les Mis revival), John Tartaglia (Avenue Q fame), Barrett Foa (also Q fame in my mind), Anthony Rapp (hello Rent), Robb Sapp (<
The show was just terrific, and serves as one of my best theatre (well, technically it was in a church) memories of my life. Does anyone know if there is either an audio or video recording of this that is commercially available? I've looked and looked and can't seem to find anything.
PM me pleeeeeeeeeeeease if you know where I can buy either an audio or video of this one-night performance.
Thanks sooo much in advance!
Anthony

i HAD a recording of Lost in the Wilderness, but my computer stinks and my whole memory was wiped out.
check limewire from time to time.
that's where i got it from.
I would have died to hear julia' "Spark of Creation"
"Spark of Creation" was the song that made me sit up and take notice of Julia Murney as a performer. I sat there (maybe a little moist-eyed, shhhhh) and watched her BLAST through that song. Just amazing.
And Darius' "Lost in the Wilderness" was the other part of the show that just blew me away. He was soooooooooo good.
Really, this whole show was one of those theater moments you just look back on and say, "Was I really there?"
BUMP
MenzelManiac - PM me too if you have any luck - I would kill to see or hear a performance of this!
Thanks in advance!
there was a legal video on broadway.com or something awhile ago, but i have never been able to locate it since. jai sounded really nice, and julia & darius were so great.

I believe there is a video floating around but not for commercial sale. Contact the director and see what he says. He's on this board.
Oh and by the way Anthony Rapp was not a part of the night Jai Rodriguez replaced him and Avenue Q had opened just not on the great white way yet.
You all just brought back some great memories from singing that show, in that gorgeous church and feeling that you were a part of something special. Thanks for that.
I had just turned 18, grew up in upstate NY and had only seen one show on Broadway ever. Being given the opportunity to hear Julia Murney and Kate Shindle and Darius de Haas (three of my highlights) belt those gorgeous songs was a privilege that I won't ever forget.
Not trying to keep a thread alive here, just sharing a story I'm sure lots of us share.

That concert was quite special. Let's not forget the amazing John Dokuchitz (so Hot/so talented) as Adam/Noah. Norm stounded great as Father and Julia was really good as Eve/Mama Noah. though I knew the score, I had never seen a production of the show and I doubt anything I'll see after that will ever compare. Having a full orchestra and HUGE chorus in that amazing church. I still have my program and it will hold a special place for me in my NYC memories.
You're right, he was soooo good in that part. I also have my program and will always keep it. The orchestra made all the difference, because it was so different from the Cast Recording from Paper Mill. This was just one of those live performances that you HAD to be at. It was that definitive.
I wish I could have been there for this. And seriously if anyone knows of anyway I could hear some songs from it I would greatly appriciate the PM.
i've heard the audio also. Great performances of a pretty bland score. Updated On: 5/10/06 at 12:19 AM
I like the score! Updated On: 5/10/06 at 12:27 AM
I don't like the score ... I LOVE the score!!! I have a friend that introduced me to the show when she did it and a week before I went to go see it I played the CD over and over and over again every waking moment and never got tired of it.
