Chita Rivera and Mary S. Masterson leave October 5th!

So, they're leaving with him on October 5th. Who should replace him? My votes- Caroline O' Connor for Chita. She has a great voice, and can dance very well. She also resembles Chita a tiny bit, and doesn't look that much younger. I think she would be perfect. As for Masterson's replacemnt- My vote from the beginning has been Judy Kuhn. She resembles Masterson, has a fantastic voice, and could act the role, I think. Add these 2 to Stamos and Luker, and you have my dream replacement cast- but I don't want Elfman replacing Jane Krakowski. Ugh!

Caroline? I never thought about that. She would be awesome!!!! But Chita is not leaving now I guess that THE VISIT is on hold. But I think Judy needs a show again. She is very good.

Is it me or is it odd that the day after John Stamos is announced to replace Antonio, all of the main original actors seem to be jumping ship. I, personally, don't really have any desire to see John Stamos in Nine, and a lot of people I've talked to are trying to get tickets before October 5th. I'm interested to see who they get to replace the rest of the cast that is leaving. I have tickets to see the show again on the 14th and I'm glad it's before everyone leaves and I can't wait to see Rebecca Luker in the role of Claudia.

Finally saw nine at todays matinee! Mary Stuart Masterson really impressed me. She had the least "showy" of the roles and made so much of it! Of course Jane Krakowski was great gliding down on that sheet! And when Chita Rivera put her foot on Antonio's shoulder, the audience just loved that! I never got to see Laura Benati in the show, but Rebecca Luker was glorious as Claudia! And while the performers were all very good to excellent, something about the show seemed lacking, to me.

So, for anyone who's confused, this is what it looks like:

Antonio Banderas, Jane Krakowski, and Chita Rivera are set to leave Nine on October 5. John Stamos and Jenna Elfman will be taking over as Guido and Carla respectively on October 7. No word on who is replacing Chita.

Laura Benanti already left the show on August 31. Rebecca Luker is now Claudia.

Mary Stuart stays.

i don't think this has been posted, but it was announced mary stuart masterson is not leaving as previously announced...she's staying until january according to playbill.com
i also have to agree that she does a great job with her role as luisa. when i first went to the show, i wondered aloud to my mother whether she would have a decent voice(i've been doubtful of higher profile actors since tom cavanagh in urinetown). after her rendition of "my husband makes movies" (which blew me away), my mom leaned over and whispered "i guess that answers your earlier question?".
