Forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere here, but I couldn't find it: Does anyone know if there are plans to issue a Broadway Cast recording for this musical? I know the London cast recording is available, but I'd prefer to get a recording as close to what I saw as possible. Thanks.

Do you mean they have no plans of ever making one? That would be sad.

currently there are no plans of recording the broadway cast, which in my opinion also, is quite sad.
Had the show been selling better, we might've seen one, but surprisingly, the show is only hitting an average of 73% capacity. I don't think we will see a cd.

The whole cast is grand. That is terrible there will be no recording. Poor Chitty!

73% at that theater is not bad at all (what do they call that theater nowadays? The Hilton is it?).
Never mind Erin Dilly and Kevin Cahoon. RAUL! And Marc Kudisch! I will be a very sad person if this doesn't get a cast recording...
Psha, never mind Erin Dilly? You are no longer my friend.
With its recent jump to 87 % percent capacity and if the trend lasted would it have a shot at it still?...What I'm really asking is in the past if good sales were the impetus for a cast recording which was not previously planned?

It's supposed to run for three years so I can graduate college and take over Erin Dilly's role! Damn, damn, damn.
They recorded Michael Ball, they can record Raul. I would buy it.
Let's make Frank Wildhorn record it!
"and kevin cahoon!!!"

Kevin's fantastic in this, and a really nice guy in general. I also wish they would record this phenomenal cast.

I once again, shall say this:
......
It won't be recorded. Too expensive to make. Chitty, despite it's great cast, is about that car, and not much else. With a London Cast already, there's no real reason for the producers or record company to put the time and money into a recording.

if this show get a cast cd made then good vibrations should get one as well.
