THIS IS NOT THE BROADWAY CAST RECORDING.
Sony is doinga domestic (Us/Canada) release of the London cast recording in November.
My rep as Sony/BMG mentioned this was coming out in November and asked me if I wanted a copy.
So, sorry...but still no OBC of CCBB. (Besides, even if they recorded it this weekend it would not likely be ready for release by November.)
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Why does it SAY "Original Broadway Cast," then? That's totally misleading. And that doesn't explain why this is released as an import in the UK. They don't need it.
At least if that's the case, it'll be cheaper and no longer considered an import.

I hear ya, Blucat! I feel so sad now.

Yes it is. I wondered too, but my rep at SONY/BMG here in Toronto read me the press release and it says original LOndon cast. I suspect Amazon got it wrong. (No one here has heard anything about there being a Broadway cast album, have they?)

Barnes and Noble is usually pretty reliable -- that's a big part of my confusion. They list it, too. Well, I'm sure we'll figure it out soon enough.
Best Buy just has it as the O.C.R

Ugh. *confused*
That's specific.
*is super sad*
I literally was more excited than I've been in a really long time, then *poof,* gone.

I just got back from seeing the show (it was AMAZING, but I digress), and I specifically asked if a OBC recording would be made. The nice man at the desk explained to me that it wasn't likely, unfortunately. HOWEVER, let's all hope he was wrong!
THIS. IS. SO. WEIRD.
Man at the desk? Desk where? And I'm glad you liked it!
