Well, I am pretty sure Em will be first to know as she is an investor in Chitty.
You'd think I was!

Straight from one of the show's producers, there is no OBC cd in the works. And you can take that to the bank.
DAMNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep. No dice, kids. This is the US release of the London album.
This was to be the light at the end of the tunnel called "my life has become living hell." Oh well.
I'm sad too Em.
But I guess it'd be expensive to record it. And for some, it's all about the car. Which would have a limited part on a CD.

(re-joining late, sorry lol)
The man at the desk I referred to was the man at the souvenir desk counter thing. And it is a shame that there is no CD coming
I'm praying this si a rumor because if I spent $25 and settled for the london cast, I'm pissed!
I was so happy when I read this thread...then I kept reading
Me too, broadwaystar2b. Since I know one of the performers in the cast, I emailed and asked him. And nope...no OBCR that he knows of. Dang.

If the effing car sang a song, maybe they'd record the show. *kicks something*
WickedGeek, is *definitely* isn't true. So your money isn't so wasted.
YES! BILL! LOVE HIM!!!
Anyway back on topic
NO I WANT RAUL. AND ERIN. SINGING. TOGETHER. NOW.
hmmph
What a huge disappointment this turned out to be. Shame on Amazon/Barnes and Noble for getting this wrong (and/or Sony for providing bad info or misleading info to the merchants).

honestly, had it really been recorded and was being released in November we would have known about it a long time ago when they went into the recording studio... playbill or Broadway.com almost always does photo coverage of such things... or a label would have at the very least had a press announcement...
I see now why the various online retailers got this wrong about it being the Broadway cast recording. It is in fact, as everyone now knows, the London cast. Sony's packaging for the new release says only "Original Cast Recording." No where on the packaging does it reveal that it is the London cast recording. On the other hand, the original release from the west end production is clearly marked as "Original London Cast Recording."

Well, by saying that it's the Original Cast Recording, they aren't lying. The London cast was the original stage show cast, and "cast recording" indicates that it's the stage show, not the movie. Yes, it requires a discerning eye, but it's not not the truth.
Now that this thread title is back on top a whole new generation of posters are going to be confused, could you please change the title to indicate the facts.
Original title thread changed. Shame on Sony for trying to pull a fast one on the fans.
