I can't wait for this show. Holding out on getting tickets just yet, though. Looking forward to seeing Raul in the Chitty car Thursday during the parade. Hope it definitely happens!

Is CHITTY joining the Thanksgiving Day parade? Hey, that would be such a different attraction for the young and the young-at-heart ( the generation who grew up with the movie

) on that day. Also, that would make excellent copy on national television.

CHITTY being driven by Caractacus Potts, with Truly Scrumptious by his side, was how they announced the show officially at the West End in late 2001

There's a blurb on his website that he's supposed to be riding in it during the parade. No one else is mentioned, though.

Will definitely check out the Parade while stuffing the bird...I want to see what Raul looks like behind the wheel!

Definitely a good deal for $20 and I agree with Jo, best place to watch the car fly is from the Dress Circle!

Still disappointed the guy in my AVATAR won't be along for the ride however.

I think I am the only person who remembers what a dreadful movie this is and such an undistinguished score.

I will see it because I try to see all the Broadway musicals, but I am not holding my breath for anything good. I have the same wary anticipation I had for Saturday Night Fever.

Special effects like a flying car do not a musical make. A solid book and score interpreted by an able cast (which admittedly does look good) and tight direction make a good musical.

If a show cannot be performed without its set, then something is wrong with the show. Even Cats could have been done on a bare stage, and I thought that show was witless (witfree?).

As for the title reminding you of 'something else', yes. The question begs, how low can you go? The one popular 30+ years ago would get me banned from the board. Discuss amongst yourselves and post in ig-pay atin-lay.

In case you have a multi-region DVD player ( or your computer can switch regions) and you're interested in the coming production, there is a DVD called THE MAKING OF CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG based on the original production in London. There is a bonus feature which shows 5 actual production numbers from the West End show.

It might still be available on Amazon.co.uk or other sites selling Region 2 DVDs.

Yes, as a bonus, five full ( complete) production numbers are included in the DVD version of the documentary ( Hushabye Mountain, Me Ol Bamboo, Bombie Samba, Doll on a Music Box/Truly Scrumptious, and the glorious Finale with Chitty flying!)

You can also get an NTSC converted copy of the "Making of" DVD from Discount Music Connection if you don't have a multi-region player. It's a fun and interesting video.

BTW, since there aren't any Brits in the B-Way cast anyone taking bets on which side of the road Raul will be driving Chitty on in the Parade?
