If anyone wants to help me choose between shows, please don't hesitate.
I am going the last week in July to B'way and as of now, I am going to be purchasing
- La Cage Aux Folles
- Next to Normal (2nd time only for d'arcy James)
and I need one more show. I was looking at Addams Family and Promises, Promises. Let me also add that I am taking my parents there, mid 40's. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was looking at Phantom, but I've seen it in Vegas three times and not the full show. I don't know, just any suggestions would help.
Thank you in advance
I'm in MY mid forties...and honestly: Have no desire to see any of the shows you listed except for your already chosen shows.
You couldn't PAY me to sit through Phantom Again.
What about South Pacific? A real beauty. Or something different or off b'way: Avenue Q, The 39 Steps, The Tempermentals.

Phantom is a classic... However, three times in Vegas should suffice. I love Phantom, and I could see it 100 times and would still love it... Adam's family is really funny, but the music is horrible. I didn't enjoy this show... Promises, promises is ok... I agree with mama... Go see the 39 Steps... Hilarious! And a play... which is different than your first two choices. So you get variety!
Anything but Phantom again... look at the list of shows on Playbill... In the Heights, Billy Elliot, A Little Night Music, West Side Story, Hair, Memphis... and what about plays? C'mon, you can do better than Phantom!

I am considering ALNM and I got the cast recording. Is it still worth seeing even after Lansburry and Zeta Jones leave? I didn't mention that my parents don't support my passion for musical theatre. So it's a bit tougher to choose shows in any fashion, you know? maybe not haha
I guess it depends who replaces them.

OK, then pick something like Jersey Boys....They'll know the mainstream music and you can enjoy a well-structured musical.

If they don't share your love for musical theater, I would take them to see a play. The 39 steps is for anyone... It is hysterical. I would suggest this especially after hearing they are not into musical theater that much. You already have two musicals, so a play would actually balance you out... I would try the 39 steps in order to change it up a bit, and I think this would be their favorite. I am a musical guy myself, but you can't go wrong with a play especially this one.
They must 'support' your passion since you are going to so many shows. They just don't share your passion. (So how do you get them to see so very many for you?)

They took my brother to Florida so they asked me if I wanted to go to NY which was TOTALLY FINE with me
