Read your Playbill, because I'm working my butt off here!

It's a thankless role in which Sieber makes little impression. The fact that he got a Tony nod is absurd and can only be interpreted as an attempt by the nominating committee to stack the Tony deck in SPAMALOT's favor.

I for one am rooting for him. I loved him in all three roles. He might not have the biggest featured actor part, but he did a top notch job with what he had.

I loved Sieber in the role, he was really great. But I think that article is pointless. Ok, he told us what roles he plays (which I think a lot of people know already)....now what?

Did anyone else love him in the sitcom with the Olsen twins, "Two of a Kind?" I used to watch the re-runs every afternoon. It was my guilty pleasure. Sorry...getting off topic.

Yes! I've seen every episode of that show, I was so mad when it got cancelled! I think he's a great actor and I'm glad he was recognized with a Tony nom.

I loved him in Two Of A Kind, he had great chemistry with Sally Wheeler (the actress who played Carrie). I've asked this before but does anyone know what happened to her? She is very talented, I heard she was a NYC actress but haven't seen her in anything lately. Chris also was funny in It's All Relative, his other sitcom that was cancelled. FYI, Two Of A Kind still plays on ABC Family in the morning. I watch it with my kids.

i saw spamalot before it officially opened. I really have no idea why everyone thinks Christian Borle was so great. Christopher Sieber was about 10 times better then Christian and he was 10 times more deserving of a tony nomination.

He was also great in "Triumph of Love". I love the way he repeatedly flings his hair back a la Chenoweth in "Spamalot". Too funny!

I loved 'Two of a Kind'. But come on. This is pathetic. He got a Tony nod. What else does he want? Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it.

Do I really have to explain this? It's not really accepted to go out and campaign for a Tony Award (Unless you're Avenue Q) so you do things like this, where your publicist gets you a little story where you can remind people that you play three very different roles. You get to talk some about how different the parts are and how glad you are to be in a big hit show with a legendary director. You'll see lots of these in the next month: Norbert talking about his "different" this character is, Lithgow talking about how he could make a LOT of mony in TV but he loves Broadway, etc. Etc. It's how the game is played.

this was a totally stupid article. All he did was bitch about how we're not to think of him as a comedy musical theater performer? Boo hoo.

People, please. Give the man a break. He's doing what EVERYONE ELSE who is successful in show business does: selling himself. If this were "Everyone's Favorite" there would not be this much fuss over it. I saw the show, and it actually does get a bit confusing as to what actor is playing what role. Although, if you're really a buff on the film, then you're okay, because all of the role exchanges are the same on stage as they are in the film :)

I agree Joe and Lizzy, this is NOT a "woe is me" article. Its a very clever way of saying "HEY TONY VOTERS! Keep an eye out for me when you see Spamalot."

It also shows how good Sieber is at blending into his part. To the audience he is "Hebrbert's father" and "The Black Night" Although I love David Hyde Pierce, you know who he is in ever part he plays. Its "Oh, theres David dressed as a monk" or "Hey look! David's a drunk guard!" For Sieber he changes himself for each role. I think it was very smart to put this in the back of people minds when seeing it over the next month.

I don't really think he's bitching. It's important, especially now for it to be known that he's doing all three parts. I don't know if I necessarily agree with such obvious selling of himself, but, that's the way it is. I don't see it as being bitchy, though.

Should Christopher's nomination have gone to Christian Borle?
YES!
Should audiences reconginze all the other hard work Christopher does in Spamalot?
Yes.
I thought his mini article was cute and funny, not as biting as others' have.

Now you're all .02 cents richer.

While this is just PR at at work, wasn't the comment "Christopher Sieber is completely wasted in Spamalot" said on this site? We have more of an impact than we realize.

Exactly. Christopher Sieber commented on reading online message boards and seeing posts about how underused he is, how he doesn't do much in Act 2, etc. in an earlier Playbill interview. At the time, it was amusing; during Tony voting season, it is probably less so. Actually, I'm beginning to think if one of the "Spamalot" cast members is caught saving someone's life via a Heimlich maneuver, someone here would make a snarky comment about it ("He probably paid that woman to get the chicken bone caught in her throat so he could get the publicity for saving her life and help his Tony chances.") re: Christopher Sieber Speaks Out

I saw him in Beauty and the Beast, as Gaston, the Prince, in Into the Woods, and Mr. Graydon in Millie. I can look at that man all day.....................re: Christopher Sieber Speaks Out

I don't think he's getting robbed... it's not as if he was forced to do Spamalot and it's not like people don't know who he is. Just look at what that man has accomplished! it's all there in the playbill. He's brilliant, and just because he has a smaller role in this play doesn't mean he's not!
