Winston: Don't judge her until you've heard her in BatB. Yikes.
She's decent in Parade, but like I said, something bad happened to her voice later. Terrible wobble, and she has a very limited range (though in Kim Possible I heard her sing a C6 and it wasn't bad, so maybe it's just a passagio issue).

She did the film "Cutting Edge 3" last year and was not very good. AVENUE Q does not need semi-star personalities to distract from the puppet characters.
"Maybe I caught her on a good night but I thought she was fine in BATB. Not a powerhouse voice - obviously - but competent and she was quite charming in the role. I didn't understand all the negativity at the time. "
I agree! I know she wasn't the best Belle, but I actually liked her. Although I couldagree about her acting...she seems to focus more on facial movements then body (as you'd expect a movie actress to do), but who knows maybe she improved a lot. That was what 5 years ago?
Having been very closely involved with the Broadway Company of "BATB" during Christy's run, I can attest to the fact that her name pulls! That theatre was packed with people of all ages who came just because of her; and my nieces and nephews back home thought it was the coolest thing that I actually knew "Kim Possible". My 17 year old nephew is still ga-ga over her. Whatever my personal opinions of her performance may be, they are neither here nor there; but I wouldn't doubt that her name still has a bit of pull attached to it.

I read that they offered the part to Laura Osnes but she turned it down. I guess they wanted to hear a "nice" girl say dirty words. lol
