So you really didnt need our input at all, did you. I mean, that's the most painfully obvious choice one could make, short of GODSPELL.
:: shaking head ::
Like I said at the beginning, the choice was never in my hands. I just thought that it would be fun to brainstorm ideas publicly. I also knew that I might be able to be exposed to more musicals through the use of this thread.

I did two musicals in the pulpit of my church. "Godspell" and "Joseph". It was the only time that the church was completely filled with also a balcony. It was a great experience that I will never forget. My third was to be JCS. I could not cast it so I had to wait until I founded my own community theatre group. The show was awesome!!! Best of luck and let me know how it works for you!!
I find it so funny that churches are now performing JCS. When it first came out it was considered blasphemous!

^^^Same with Godspell. "Clowns" telling the story of Jesus. Blasphemy!
So...tomorrow I have auditions. Never actually done that before. The big catch is I have a cold!

Ack. Well,at least you don't have to audition with a cold. Drink lots of fluids. Good Luck, and keep us posted!
Like racism and homophobia, the cries of blasphemy against Godspell and Jesus Christ Superstar were motivated much less by personal experience with the feared thing and much more by ignorance.
Just like it's hard to be a homophobe or a racist when one actually knows a wide variety of gay people or minorities, it's hard to hold up the cries of blasphemy against JCS or Godspell after, you know, actually SEEING the show.
I just had my worst audition ever. This was my first musical audition, but I have done auditions for choirs in the past.
1st: Blanked out on the lyrics for part of the portion of the song I was trying to act out.
2nd: Didn't even get to the dramatic turn in the song because the people holding the auditions had heard enough.
3rd: The choreography was a lot harder than I was prepared for and I didn't get enough time to learn it.

I misunderstood you. I'd thought you were auditioning people for the show, not auditioning yourself. Learn from this and try to prepare better for next time. And you never know. You may have done better than you thought.
I had a bad audition once. But, after sleeping with the director, it didn't matter.
So...audition results were just announced. I will be a chorus member, a leper, and a reporter!
