The Theatre Ensemble at Meadow Brook Theatre Announces Back-to-Back “Nunsense” Celebrities: Cindy Williams Starring in “Nunsense” and “Nunsense Jamboree” with Lee Meriwether

The final play of the 2007-2008 season has been replaced with Dan Goggin’s “Nunsense.” This first encounter with the now-famous Little Sisters of Hoboken is in its twenty-fifth year. As a special treat to Meadow Brook audiences, Cindy Williams stars as the Reverend Mother. Williams, probably best known as Shirley from TV’s “Laverne and Shirley,” recently appeared on Broadway in “The Drowsy Chaperone.”

After The Theatre Ensemble’s regular season concludes, the “Nunsense” fun continues with a special, two-week engagement of “Sister Amnesia’s Country Western Nunsense Jamboree,” starring former Miss America Lee Meriwether.

Dan Goggin, creator of all seven “Nunsense” shows, will direct both productions and is excited to be returning to his home state of Michigan. “Meadow Brook Theatre is one of my favorite theatres. It is so exciting to be able to come back home to Michigan with my original New York creative team to celebrate 25 years of Nunsense,” says Goggin.

“Nunsense” runs April 23 through May 18. “Nunsense Jamboree” runs May 28 through June 8. Tickets are available now by calling the Meadow Brook Theatre box office at 248-377-3300 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
