I watched Passion last night, and it was fantastic...triggered some emotions in me that were unexpected. When I saw the dreaded paper insert in the Playbill, my heart sank a little when I saw that Melissa Errico's understudy, Amy Justman, was playing the role of Clara. But Amy was great...I wouldn't have guessed she was an understudy. Beautiful voice. Curious about something though...I thought Clara's movements were somewhat ghost-like - her entrances were often accompanied by an expressionless face, hands to her side, almost floating through the scene. For those who have watched it with Errico, was this the impression you got, as well? Or was the interpretation different?

Amy was on at my performance as well, so I don't have an answer, but knowing the chat that usually goes on here - and speaking of ghosts - why is no one discussing the fact that Melissa Errico has silently vanished from this production?

Silently vanished? She posted on Facebook that she has the flu. She's ill, and she's ended up being out longer than planned. She hasn't left the production.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Alrighty then. Apparently we all should be following Melissa Errico's Facebook page for CSC news.

With Errico, yes. Very ghost-like (wonderful way to describe it), trance-like, something you'd see in a dream. As I've said in other threads many times before, it was a sublime thing to see. Now I'd love to see Amy but the tickets are hard to come by!

"She hasn't left the production."

She has, in fact, left the production as per ATC. I'm not FB friends with Errico, but there has been plenty of word of mouth about her illness. A similar thing happened during the misbegotten Dracula The Musical. Errico suffered vocal chord injury and was out for weeks and weeks. She returned to Dracula, but she's run out of time with Passion.
Errico is not returning to Passion
